Sunday School

The Mount Canaan Baptist Church Sunday School provides an excellent opportunity to expand the knowledge base of Christianity and Baptist beliefs. We believe that in order to build a relationship with Christ we must equip ourselves with the knowledge of Him, by laying a strong foundation rooted in Christian education.

We welcome you to join us at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday morning for Sunday School, followed by a time of fellowship, and the worship service begins promptly at 10:45 a.m. We ask that you come as you are to hear and receive the Word of God. As a result, you will see Him move mightily in your life, as the knowledge that you receive will assist you in navigating the paths of life.

There is something for everyone as our classes are structured by gender for adults and by grade and age levels for children. Sunday School opens promptly at 9:30 a.m., followed by class instruction at from 9:35 to 10:15. The class assignments are as follows:

Regardless of your current relationship with Christ, you are welcome to join us to learn more about His love for us! You are guaranteed to find yourself in a loving atmosphere, taught by seasoned instructors in an interactive setting. Come, and let’s learn and grow together!

We bring greetings in the precious and matchless name of Jesus, the Savior, who leads, guides and sustains us. The Laymen of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, as an auxiliary, are to promote, and boost the total Church program. The work of the Church must be presented in such a way that every man in the movement may be enlisted and used effectively in strengthening the ministry of the Pastor.

We are called to this ministry to work diligently to be compassionate, kind and a blessing to others. In this ministry it is not asked that you be perfect. It is only asked that you be committed to the mission. Among other things, we are to encourage men to read and study their bibles; enlist men to visit the sick, bereaved, delinquent, jailed, and to support the community; to involve, minister to and teach the youth, to train, teach, recruit and inspire men to be evangelists.

Come help us in the work of the ministry here at Mt. Canaan to accomplish God’s work and live according to His divine will. If you think God cannot use you, just remember; Noah was a drunk; Abraham was too old; Jacob was a liar; Moses had a stuttering problem; David had an affair and was a murderer. No more excuses. God can and will use you too.

Youth Ministry

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭6‬ KJV)‬‬‬‬‬‬

In keeping with Proverbs 22:6, it is the mission of the Mt. Canaan Youth Ministry to nurture and train our youth according to the Word of God. We believe establishing and maturing in a relationship with Christ is the key to living life according to God’s will. Through relevant and applicable Bible study, fellowship, service to church and community, and trips, we mentor and train youth to prepare for a lifetime of Christian service and an ever-growing relationship with Christ.

Media Ministry

Mission:

To provide quality sermon tapes and CD’s to members, and to the sick and shut in.

Description:

The media ministry is responsible for recording sermons and ministry events throughout the year in tape and CD format. Recorded sermons are available for purchase. Tapes are $5.00 and CD’s are $10.00. Revival sets are $30.00 (4 CD’s).
